The first is to visit one of Nashville’s many performance venues, where all of the “greats” have performed. The Ryman Auditorium and Grand Ole Opry have packed concert schedules, so be sure to book tickets in advance!
The second option is to simply wander. You can’t go wrong choosing a Honky Tonk on Broadway, so take a walk down the street until you hear good music. Long-standing favorites include Tootsies Orchid Lounge and Honky Tonk Central, both on Lower Broadway.
Drinks
There’s no shortage of bars around the city, and drinks are always flowing. Rooftop bars are a popular choice for grabbing evening cocktails and taking in the views. L27 has a rooftop pool and bar located on top of the Westin Hotel, perfect for groups. L.A. Jackson is in The Gulch and offers indoor and outdoor seating and an impressive list of specialty cocktails.
Printer’s Alley is a must-visit in the city; a change of pace from other options. This live music and night club district used to operate as the center of the printing industry in Nashville. Now, restaurants and bars line the alley. A fan favorite is Skull’s Rainbow Room, where greats like Etta James, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan once performed. While restaurant seating is booked in advance, drop by the bar for a quality cocktail and stay for the captivating and alluring ambiance.
What to Eat
In Nashville, you must try one of the most popular dishes, ‘Nashville Hot Chicken’. There’s a long-standing rivalry on the hot chicken front, with Hattie B’s and Prince’s competing for the title of Best Hot Chicken. Try them both yourself and pick a side. For an elevated experience, The Stillery is known for its Hot Chicken and Mac and Cheese, and is a great. option for taking a break with comfort food.
Another great spot is the Assembly Food Hall, conveniently located off Broadway. The food hall has many options to choose from, all in the same building. What to Do
If live music and drinks aren’t enough to fill each day, there are other activities in Nashville to experience. Bridgestone arena is centrally located in Downtown Nashville and hosts Nashville Predators hockey games. Preds games are lively and intense- a great outing for a group.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has galleries devoted to the careers of many musicians of the past and present. Their current exhibit “Western Edge: The Roots and Reverberations of Los Angeles Country-Rock” examines the musical fusion of the 1960s and 70s and will be displayed through May of 2025.
Get Around Town
Nashville is a walkable city, with flat areas and some hills. Should you choose to move from one neighborhood to another, utilize one of the unique transportation options. Byrd scooters are available to rent, left all over the sidewalks.
